‘This is the every day story of country folk’

That may sound a bit cheesy but that’s exactly what this is, sometimes it does get a little like the ‘Archers’ (radio 4 Sunday mornings) I’m not sure who’s character I would be….as yet

I’m not a great writer, I write as though I would be talking to you, my spelling is appalling, I use too many exclamation marks!!! possibly swear a little too much… so I’ve been told, and I hate cooking, you won’t be getting many recipe tips in my blog, no ones perfect!

I live in The New Forest National Park and so do all my family, they have lived in the village of Plaitford since 1742 and before that, Bramshaw, which is only three miles away, I have lived in Godshill for almost thirty years, a huge distance of nine miles…..not great travellers the Bowles’s, I just like to think we are a contented lot.

So why do this?

I like to share stories and stuff, I like to learn something new everyday, I love meeting interesting people and hearing their stories and the tales they have to tell. I like the old traditional way of life, and the skills they needed to survive everyday. ‘Hills Corner’ is a 17th century Cob cottage, its grade two listed as a ‘New Forest Hovel’  and to be honest we don’t live a lot differently as they would have done a few hundred years ago…..says she….writing on my laptop!  We have a few animals, ponies on the forest, few sheep, couple of pigs in a few weeks and grow a few veg in the garden, I’m not saying we are self sufficient but we do like to produce our own food where we can.

Now then, that’s just a hello to whoever is out there reading this!
