Gabe hasn’t traveled far in in the last 120 years, Salisbury to Godshill in fact. But the things he has seen would fill a weighty tome. Having been restored sympathetically using the farmers mantra, if it’s laid there use it, he is now resting on our small holding in the heart of the New Forest, ready to welcome you to the shelter that he provided for the shepherds and newborn lambs during bleak winters over the last century.
We have dedicated an intimate area for you in addition to the main accommodation, immediately outside the hut you have a fire pit area for relaxing well into the evening, through Herrods gate, heading back towards the cottage there is the white garden which guides you up to a cosy area for bbqing and then onto the Verandah for under cover, yet still alfresco eating, this links into the wash house which is equipped with a shower and loo which will be dedicated to you.
There is always something going on, you may wish to get involved in feeding the animals, always rewarding, or, if there is space available, book onto one of Mandies courses in decoupage, flower arranging, leatherwork, upholstery, lime plastering, painting, on the other hand you may want to go on and cart ride through this part of the forest and learn all about its distant and more recent past.
